Even with the chaos on the shop floor the Vancouver FanExpo awards are complete and ready to go!!

FanExpo this weekend: I have a few spare passes (not enough for all the spots I need to fill but first obligate first get…) or if you are already coming and not obligated Saturday eve, I have posts needing to fill for Masquerade. 4 den moms/dads. 6 Stage Ninjas. Greenroom contestant photographer. PM me right away. Include your email address. Den Parents - You are assigned a ‘den’ which consists of 30 seats (usually about 3 to 10 entries). You make sure they don’t overheat. Run to get them water and/or electrolytes if they need it. They pop a seam, go grab the sewing repair kit… Etc… And when you den’s turn is up, you get them on their feet and ready. Once your den has gone, stay in the room because they’re coming back. They are permitted to come and go so they may still need you and we ask den parents to stay around to help us with any clean up. 10 minute clean up is better then an hour. Stage Ninjas -I’ve put Ed Appleby in charge of Ninjas so I’ll be sending your info to him. Ninjas help folks on and off stage and a few are put out front incase a contestant gets to close to the edge of the stage. The front of stage ninjas should be in black but behind stage/steps Ninjas don’t. You just have to be wearing clothes/costume/garb that doesn’t get in the way of helping. Photographer - set up a basic backdrop and a few lights, take nice pics of the contestants so they have a great record of their outfits. Offer them a discount on their copies of the pictures if they sign a release so you can use the pics in your portfolio and sell to other fans.

Did anyone catch a shot of this steampunk-pooch?

Here’s the steampunk K9 I mentioned. Hope someone got more photos, cause I only glimpsed it as attendees were filing into the main hall.

That’s our M.U.T. He is the pup of our Steam Team and we are so proud of him. We’re very happy that his creators (Martin Hunger and Christina Carr) brought him to life. The two of them are BIG long time Dr Who fans so K-9 was a big influence when creating M.U.T. You can find M.U.T. on his own FaceBook fan page at: https://www.facebook.com/MUTmechpupFeel free to follow/like any of the timespastent pages (Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube, Yelp, Linked In) and share your stories, pictures, videos of any of our team (including our Egyptian, Steampunk, Jade Dragon Pirates, LOTR, etc… Groups)
